SORTING GUIDEHow to Sort Pokémon Bulk Cards for Selling
Sorting your Pokémon bulk into the same categories used by a buylist can make your estimate more precise and make the submission easier to verify.
View Current Bulk Categories BEFORE YOU STARTSort for the buylist you are actually using.
Different bulk buyers may define their categories differently. For an I Buy Bulk TCG submission, use the exact active categories shown on our current Pokémon buylist.
Do not assume that two cards with similar rarity symbols always belong in the same payout category. When in doubt, check the current category names and descriptions before entering your count.
1Remove cards that should not be in the payout piles
Pull out cards with major condition problems and anything that is not part of an active buylist category.
Standard Basic Energy does not receive a payout. Holo Basic Energy is different and may be eligible through its own active category.
2Separate regular bulk
Start with the large-volume categories shown on the live buylist, such as Common / Uncommon and Rare.
Keep each payout category in a separate stack so your count matches what you enter into the quote calculator.
3Separate Holo and Reverse Holo
Place eligible Holo and Reverse Holo cards into the combined Holo / Reverse Holo category rather than mixing them into your regular Common, Uncommon, or Rare piles.
4Pull out higher-rarity cards
Check cards such as EX, V, GX, VMAX, VSTAR, BREAK, Radiant, Baby Shiny, and eligible Illustration Rare / Full Art cards against the live buylist.
These categories have their own payout rates and should not be buried inside regular bulk.
5Count each category
Once the piles are separated, count the cards in each category and enter those quantities into the quote calculator.
Your online total is an estimate. We verify the actual quantities and categories after the cards arrive.
6Keep the piles separated when packing
Pack cards securely and keep categories organized with appropriate card boxes, dividers, clean packing material, or cardboard spacers.
Do not use rubber bands or place adhesive directly on cards.
CONDITIONCheck condition while you sort.
Cards submitted for payout should be Near Mint. Significant wear, bends, creases, water damage, smoke damage, strong odors, writing, and other major condition problems may cause cards to be excluded during verification.
SORTING QUESTIONSPokémon Bulk Sorting FAQ
Do I have to sort every card before selling Pokémon bulk?
No. I Buy Bulk TCG also offers an unsorted submission option when it is available. A sorted submission gives you a more detailed category-by-category estimate before shipping.
Should Holo and Reverse Holo cards be separated from each other?
Not for our current combined Holo / Reverse Holo buylist category. Use the categories shown on the live buylist when preparing your submission.
Should I sort cards by set?
Our submission quote is based on active payout categories. Follow the current buylist categories first. You do not need to create a separate quote line for every Pokémon set unless a specific buylist category says otherwise.
What if I put a card in the wrong category?
The final payout is based on verification. We record the category and quantity actually received, so your verified breakdown may differ from your original estimate.
NEXT STEPCheck the current rates before counting.
Buylist categories and rates can change. Use the current pricing page and live quote calculator when you are ready to submit.
